Our B Corp journey
Becoming a certified B Corporation requires businesses to go through an evaluation process to quantify their sustainability efforts and ensure they’re putting their values into practice. When we gained our certification in 2016, we had a score of 99 and, when we recertified three years later in 2019, we had improved this to 117.4. What makes OI Soufflé special?
OI Soufflé has been created with a selection of natural ingredients designed to protect fine hair, make it easier to manage and enhance its natural beauty.
Roucou oil, extracted from the seeds of the Amazonian achiote plant, has protective properties due to high levels of carotenoids, vitamin A and selenium, helping to reduce damage from treatments and environmental stressors.
Chicory root extract is a plant-based ingredient that creates a natural film to help detangle hair, making it look and feel softer and silkier to touch.
A mix of amino acids represents a vegetable-based alternative to animal keratin, boosting the natural amino acids of the hair to promote a shiny and healthy look.
The effect of OI Soufflé on fine hair
Formulated to give hair extra body and offer our best heat protectant for fine hair, OI Soufflé will leave your hair looking fuller and shinier, feeling silky and soft.
In our tests, we found that using OI Soufflé:
- Adds light body and volume
- Makes hair appear 2.3x shinier*

How to use OI Soufflé
- After shampooing, simply apply the product to the lengths and ends of your hair - there’s no need to rinse.
- Most hair types and lengths will need 3-4 pumps, but if you have very fine hair start with 2 pumps.
- For fine hair, shampoo plus OI Soufflé will be enough. If your hair is medium, you can use OI Soufflé on its own or in addition to your conditioner.

- Step 1: Gently cleanse your hair by shampooing twice with OI Shampoo, massaging your scalp as you do so.
- Step 2: Towel dry your hair, then add up to 4 pumps of OI Soufflé - if your hair is very fine, start with just 2 pumps.
- Step 3: Style your hair as usual. Your OI Soufflé provides heat protection for fine hair for temperatures up to 230°C.
- Step 4: Add extra shine and smoothness by adding a small amount of OI Oil to the ends of your hair.

For unruly, frizzy hair
- Step 1: Gently cleanse your hair by shampooing twice with OI Shampoo, massaging your scalp as you do so.
- Step 2: Apply OI All In One Milk to the length and ends of your hair, using 5-15 sprays depending on length.
- Step 3: Towel dry your hair, then add up to 4 pumps of OI Soufflé - if your hair is very fine, start with just 2 pumps.
- Step 4: Style your hair as usual. Your OI products have in-build protection for temperatures up to 230°C.

How do I add body to fine hair?
There are many ways to add body to fine hair. You can use volumising and texturising products to bulk out individual hair fibres, as well as using styling techniques that create the appearance of body. OI Soufflé gives a subtle volumising effect while adding softness and shine.
Can I use leave-in conditioner if I have fine hair?
Some leave-in conditioners are too heavy for fine hair, weighing it down. We’ve created OI Soufflé so that it can work as a substitute for conditioner, weightlessly adding softness and shine and making hair easier to comb.
What is Roucou oil?
Roucou oil is extracted from the seeds of the achiote, also called annatto, a plant native to the Amazon. Its high content of carotenoids, vitamin A and selenium gives it protective and antioxidant properties, helping to reduce damage caused by treatments and environmental aggressors. This is why it’s the hero ingredient in the OI range.
What makes OI Soufflé suitable for fine hair?
