We are on the Earth’s side
Greenhouse gases produced by human activity are accelerating Earth's warming, a key factor in climate change. But there is still time to make a difference and protect the only planet we have.

Climate: a challenge for all of us
When we burn fossil fuels to generate energy, we produce greenhouse gas emissions-these act like a blanket, trapping heat from the sun on Earth and raising temperatures.
Between 1850 and 2016, our planet warmed rapidly. This temperature change has triggered phenomena such as wildfires, catastrophic storms and floods, famine, drought, and loss of biodiversity, as well as increased health risks.

Decarbonization: a journey that starts from long ago
2006
We started to measure, reduce and partially neutralize our direct emissions’ carbon footprint.
2018
We measured, reduced and neutralized all emissions under our direct control (scope 1 and 2), also joining reforestation projects and supporting local communities.
2024
We submitted to SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) the goal of becoming Net Zero by 2050 at the latest, The body also validated the science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets for 2030.
2030
Our targets by 2030: reduce greenhouse gas emissions per kg of bulk product by 55% (compared to 2022). 100% of the energy requirements of the offices and production facility in Parma will be self-generated from renewable sources at Davines Village, the amount of purchased virgin fossil plastic should not exceed 10% of the total weight of plastic packaging.
The journey towards New-Zero
In its commitment to achieve zero net greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050, the Davines Group has committed through its Science Based Target initiative to set scientifically validated reduction targets in the short and long term.
2050
Overall net-zero target: Davines S.p.A. Commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050.
The choices for neutralizing our emissions
To try to neutralize our carbon emissions as much as possible, we have partnered with organizations that are regenerating important ecosystems. It is our commitment to help address climate change.
One example is the EthioTrees project in Ethiopia, a project that supports soil and forest regeneration in the northern region of Tigray in the Tembien Highlands, Ethiopia.
Since 2018, through this project, we have purchased 10,000 carbon credits* per year.
*A carbon credit corresponds to one ton of CO2 removed from the atmosphere in one year, regardless of the year in which the credit was purchased.

In balance with nature
We all leave our footprint on the Earth in one way or another. And the way we choose to do it makes a difference. We choose to do it gently.
Land Keeper: are you ready to become one?
Involving our salons, clients and local communities
We believe that by acting together, beauty can truly change the world. So we encourage you to join our vision, and adopt behaviors that protect our planet-that means becoming a Land Keeper. To thank you, we have created a special, sustainable gift.

Decarbonisation FAQs
What is Davines' commitment to decarbonization?
Since 2018, Davines has been committed to measuring, reducing and neutralizing direct emissions (scope 1 and 2), while also joining reforestation projects and supporting local communities.
What are Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?
Scope 1, 2, and 3 describe different types of emissions that occur through a company's supply chain.
- Scope 1 emissions are those that a company produces directly through its activities, such as employees driving company vehicles.
- Scope 2 emissions are the indirect emissions produced by a company during the use of energy produced on its behalf, e.g., turning on lights in an office.
- Scope 3 emissions are indirect and include the entire value chain for which the organization is responsible, e.g., emissions produced by suppliers or customers who use the company's products.
What does it mean to be Net Zero?
To achieve net zero emissions, a company must first focus on reducing critical emissions according to the latest climate knowledge, and then neutralize residual emissions through carbon removal.
Furthermore, we have approved our Net Zero target by 2050 with the SBTi. The Science Based Target Initiative was launched in 2015 to lead the way towards a net-zero economy, boosting innovation and driving sustainable growth by setting ambitious, science-based emissions reduction targets.
